In the oil town of Ahmadi, the Kuwait Oil Company’s exhibition explains, with models and interactive displays, how oil is found, produced and exported — and how it transformed Kuwait.
Kuwait’s first commercial oil was struck at Burgan in 1938, and exports began after the Second World War. The Greater Burgan field is today the second-largest oil field in the world.
Named after Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the ruler during the years of discovery, the exhibition covers geology, drilling, production and the history of the Kuwait Oil Company.
